A Woman’s Brew Podcast follows the ‘beer-ventures’ of two beer-loving women – Joanne Love & Tori Powell – on their mission to get more people drinking and talking about great craft beers. The duo look to infuse equal parts education, playfulness, and story-telling with a dash of chaos across their episodes with the aim to make the craft beer hobby more fun and approachable for all – made by women for everyone! Tori and Joanne are both UK based, but weave in their US connections with their love of travel to bring you – dear listeners – stories from across the industry and across the globe. They hope that you’ll grab a drink of your choosing and join them for a round or few – CHEERS!

Tori sometimes calls them horizontals, but have you heard of a beer tasting vertical? These are where you try the same beer from different years, often consecutive years, and taste the progression in the flavours.
We talk you through the best beer styles to use for a vertical and how you can make it an event. Who could you share the beers with, where can you get them and which beers could you choose?
We also drink through a vertical of Fuller’s Vintage Ale from 2022, 21 & 20 and pair it with different cheeses. Faelynn also joins us, to hoover up our cheese crumbs!

Towards the end of 2022, Beer Ink released their Cornetto trilogy beers. Three beers based on cornetto flavours linked to the Simon Pegg films in the Cornetto Trilogy.
Just for funsies, we try all three beers along side the matching Cornetto ice cream and let you know if they pair well – we are living our best beer & ice cream lives in this episode!
Jo shared stories about her days as the granddaughter of an ice cream man and Tori tells us the ins and outs of American ice cream culture. We might now also be a movie podcast or an ice cream podcast – help us workshop our new name! (Lol, not really!)

Welcome to A Woman’s Brew, where women talk about beer!
In the second part of our Brave Noise roundup, we share conversations we had during our brew day at Elusive Brewing. On the day we were joined not only by Ruth, but also by Pip from The Coven and Charlotte from Coalition Brewing…. Oh and Bertie, Ruth’s dog!
Over a few beers we talked about codes of conduct and how they not only show a brewery or event’s stance, but should also make them safe and welcoming places we want to be in. No tick box exercises here!
Money raised from the Brave Noise beer we brewed will go towards The Coven’s Wellness Officer programme; Pip explains what this is and why they should be an essential (paid) role at all festivals and events.
We also discuss active bystander training, the progress that has been made in making change (however slow it may be) and that we are not hysterical, we are not dramatic, we are not scared to stand up and make a brave noise – we’re not going to stop!

Ruth takes us through the process the brewery took to get to brewing the beer and talks about the impact having a code of conduct has for Elusive. We also share our experiences of beer festivals and the change we would like to see in the industry.
