Welcome to A Woman’s Brew – The Podcast, where women talk about beer! A Woman’s Brew is two beer loving women on a mission to get more people drinking and talking about great beer. Joanne & Tori want to talk you through beer styles, breweries we love, beer tasting tips, beer traditions and more from the world of craft beer. Joanne has been drinking beer since she was handed a Sam Adams Boston lager and realised that not all beer was yellow and fizzy. She was travelling the world while working on cruise ships at the time and tried every beer she could get her hands on. When she came home she decided she wanted to learn more about where the aromas and flavours in her favourite beers came from. During lockdown in the UK in 2020 she set herself the challenge to pass the Cicerone Certified Beer Server exam to earn a qualification in beer, just for fun! She passed with 97% and began to build her beer school Love Beer Learning to support other women to discover beer, build their confidence in...

We are super excited to have been invited to curate a bar at Arundel Brewfest! We chat to Ellie, aka Hoppy Raptor on Instagram who is organising the festival this year. We talk about collaboration brews (spoiler alert – some you will only be able to taste at the festival), what it’s like to organise a beer festival and how the breweries were picked.

Welcome to A Woman’s Brew, where women talk about beer!
We are making a Brave Noise – both physically and by brewing the beer!
If you haven’t heard about Brave Noise, it is a global collaboration beer started by Brienne Allan. It started as a question:
“Have you ever experienced sexism in the beer industry?”
This opened the flood gates to reports of not just sexism, but racism, homophobia and sexual assault within the beer industry and community. To honour those that have spoken out and to try to have a safer, more inclusive beer industry, the Brave Noise collaboration was born.
To take part breweries must submit their code of conduct and make this publicly available to staff and consumers. They must also commit to doing the long term work of building a more inclusive industry and make a donation to an appropriate charity or non-profit that reflects the mission of the collaboration.
We were honoured to be asked by Merakai Brewing Co to be part of their Brave Noise brew – not only brewing the beer with them but also expressing why the cause is so important to us and helping to choose the non-profit partner to receive funds from the sale of the beer.
We chose The Coven Brewsters Wellness Officer initiative. These with be trained staff that will attend beer events and festivals to help, support and act as witness for attendees.

Shannon has built a global export business based on a college project that has been successfully running for 7 years. Despite Covid and US restrictions, Brew Export UK is managing to bring US craft beer to the UK at excellent prices and through cold chain storage.
Shannon’s story is quite inspiring and we loved chatting to her, finding out what is to come from Brew Export UK. We hope to have a beer with her one day in the future!
