A Woman’s Brew Podcast follows the ‘beer-ventures’ of two beer-loving women – Joanne Love & Tori Powell – on their mission to get more people drinking and talking about great craft beers. The duo look to infuse equal parts education, playfulness, and story-telling with a dash of chaos across their episodes with the aim to make the craft beer hobby more fun and approachable for all – made by women for everyone! Tori and Joanne are both UK based, but weave in their US connections with their love of travel to bring you – dear listeners – stories from across the industry and across the globe. We bring to you dessert beers! These are not for the ‘beer should taste like beer’ crowd as they definitely taste of other things. We compare Yonder & Vault City’s carrot cake sours and try them against actual carrot cake. Then we continue with Vault and try their collaboration beers with S43 – white chocolate raspberry cheesecake sour and cherry cheesecake imperial stout – but does it actually taste like the cheesecakes on our plates?

We’re making a Brave Noise again! In episode 3 of our Brave Noise roundup, we chat with James and Helen from Wilderness Brewery. Not only are they a wild fermentation brewery from Wales, but also for a long while Wilderness was just James. They may be small but they are mighty!
We have an excellent conversation about how men may feel that Brave Noise isn’t for them or they can’t take part in the initiative. But Brave Noise and equality is for everyone, just like beer is for everyone!

There is definitely something in the water – probably because beer is 90% water! It’s a fairly important ingredient when it comes to brewing our favourite beverage but it’s also quite a complicated subject. In this episode we look at water profiles around the world that have shaped some of the beer styles you love today. We’re talking IPA, Gose and Czech Pilsner. We also taste a beer made in two different places to see if the water is really that important (spoiler – it is!)

Froze or froze? Or Froz-ah?! If you’re anything like us, you love an interesting beer, and fruited Gose is definitely interesting! Not one for the ‘why doesn’t beer taste like beer’ crowd, the fruited gose can taste anything from a fruit smoothie to a cocktail that needs a little umbrella and a beach.
We look at froze beers from our friends Merakai Brewing Co and Fallen Acorn and compare them to a fruited gose from Goodh Brew Co and a Smoothie Sour from Drekker x F**K Cancer Project.

We are still making a Brave Noise about the Brave Noise initiative!
In our second episode bringing you the people behind the UK Brave Noise beers, we chat to Tom from We Are Beer. In collaboration with Lost & Grounded in Bristol, they have produced a Brave Noise lager as the festival beer for the We Are Beer craft beer festivals.
Not only is this the first UK Brave Noise lager but it also highlights that you don’t need to be a brewery or home brewer to make a Brave Noise! We chat about how people can take part in Brave Noise (it’s easier than you think!) and how We Are Beer are striving to create safe and inclusive festivals for all.
